Local Gallatin USBC Youth Scholarship Opportunity:
The Gallatin USBC Association Youth scholarship consists of $500.00 granted yearly to two deserving youth bowlers.
The following eligibility rules must be met in order to be a successful candidate: A youth bowler must have bowled for a minimum of five (5) years and be either a junior or senior in high school (or the equivalent in a home or private school). The minimum five-year period must be in a sanctioned GUSBC league at a local center.
This application must be completed by March 1 of any given year and turned in to a USBC league official or at the bowling center.
An applicant must have unimpaired amateur standing in all athletics in which he or she participates. A youth bowler must not have bowled in USBC adult leagues or tournaments or in Jackpot or Monte Carlo bowling events.
The successful candidate must expect to redeem his or her scholarship at an accredited college, university, vo-tech or any other recognized school of higher learning. The scholarship may be applied to correspondence courses providing that the course grants a minimum of 4.0 Continuing Education Units. The scholarships will be administered through the SMART program and will be sent to the institution only, not directly to the recipient.

Montana State USBC Youth Scholarship Opportunities:

- MT USBC (1 boy & 1 girl) $ 750.00 EACH
- MT USBC Harvey L Pierce (boy) $ 500.00
- MT USBC Isabel Cummings (girl) $ 500.00
- MBPA Steve Ryan Memorial (1 boy & 1 girl) $ 750.00 EACH
- MBPA Gary Gerhardt Memorial (1 boy & 1 girl) $ 750.00 EACH
All MT USBC scholarships are awarded based on a point system, developed and/or specified by, the sponsors of the scholarships. All scholarships will be available to the selected individuals for a period of three (3) years after they graduate from high school. The Montana Bowling Proprietors Scholarship will be available for a period of 1 year. You will be considered for the above scholarships provided that the attached application pages and attachments are legible & completed entirely.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be considered, all candidates MUST:
- Be a graduating senior.
- Be a current member of a sanctioned USBC league in Montana and be in good standing for the current season.
- Have unimpaired amateur standing in all athletic participation.
- Have bowled at least three (3) years in a sanctioned USBC league in Montana.
- NOT bowled or participated in MUSBC Adult leagues or tournaments, jackpots, Monte Carlo’s, etc.
EXCEPTION – it is acceptable to bowl an adult singles league/tournament as long as any prize money is sent to SMART. - Plan on attending a college, university, vocational-technical school or other accredited school of higher learning.
